HALLS HEAD BEACH

Public BBQ

Halls Head Beach offers a sheltered alternative to the area's more exposed beaches. The calm waters and protection from strong southwesterly winds make it popular with families and dog owners. The beach stays shallow for a considerable distance, though it's deep enough for swimming without an endless wade. A grassed area overlooks the ocean, perfect for barbecues and picnics. Toilets are available on site, though cleanliness varies. Seaweed can pile up on the beach at times, but it doesn't stop locals from returning. The quiet atmosphere and dog-friendly policy keep it busy with regulars. A coffee shop sits just across the road, convenient for those who don't want to pack everything for a beach day.
